The tragedies of Shakespeare were focussed on the characteristics of the special era，which reflects the collapse of the feudal society and the generation of capitalism. Those also reveal the life and struggle of human beings in this historical turning point. Shakespearean tragedies bring the wisdom of our lives. The tragedies directly reflect the society，life，human relations，struggle and the destiny of man. There are unique characteristics of the tragedies to reflect the social and cultural background.. 

Humanism is distinctive in Shakespearean tragedies. The social context and the philosophical connotation of Shakespearean tragedies are quite rich. With the help of the exquisite art form and the broad ideological content of the performance，Shakespearean tragedies show the humanistic ideal disillusion of the heroes，and reflecting the exploration of the value and significance of life. 

"Hamlet"，"Othello"，"King Lear"，"Macbeth" reflect the deep thinking of the times and life，through focus on the shape of the new era of tragic hero. They wake up from the ignorance of the medieval，because of the dawn shines in modern，they ambitious to develop or improve their own. Unfortunately，all of them cannot overcome the history and their own limitations，the failure and sacrifice was inevitable in the end.

Hamlet avenged the death of his father and found that "the whole time out of joint"，decided to undertake "reforming the responsibility of the universe". But the result is powerless (Nicole Smith，2011). Othello was honest and believe people，but because of the scheme，he murdered his wife and then suicide. It reflects the evil between the people in that social background (Greenblatt Stephen，1997). King Lear is confound in the power with the honor and proud. Macbeth is a real hero，the character has the goodness and beauty of the side，but because the throne of temptation and ambition drives，he was also changed. The tragedies of these people profoundly reveal the various social evils and bourgeois egoism has begun to appear in the period of original capital accumulation. It reflects the fact that the contradiction between the ideals of humanism and the cruel reality is irreconcilable.

The hero of the tragedy is generally the nobility who live in the upper figure. This is due to the limitations and the times of Shakespeare and Renaissance humanism. On the other hand，the ancient culture of Greek and Roman also impact the tragedy. The influence of the traditional tragedy idea comes from the ancient Greek. The tragedy in ancient Roman culture，people never think it only falls written for kings and nobles，both men and women of the disaster to tragedy，disaster of working people can become a tragic theme. This prejudice and the time limit cause the hero of a Shakespearean tragedy to have the emperor，the queen or other noble men and women (David Chandler，1960).

Therefore the tragedy must end in the death of the hero. In Shakespearean tragedy，although the hero is dead，but they fighting for the old social and victory，it makes people feel that the future is bright. For example，in the play Hamlet，Hamlet is dead. Prince of Norway leads the army and announce Denmark to restore normal order. In King Lear，Lear finally died，but his follower makes concerted efforts to reform the country. All in all，it is obvious that in spite of the tragic hero who has paid a heavy price and has sacrificed his own life，but he makes people see a bright future and give a comfort and inspiration to others. These characters mean that even the social is unstable in that time. People still have great hope in future (Michael Hattaway，2002).

The reasons for the tragedies are not only the objective background of social，but also the characters of themselves. Macbeth made the crime of regicide，the murder of a wise monarch，not due to the urge of Lady Macbeth，but because of personal ambition of his own. Shakespearean tragedy is the emphasis on dialogue and narration of characters and grand scenes of conflict (Rutland Fanny，2001). And it is having to mention his tragic works mostly in the name of the protagonist，which is inherited the tradition of the ancient Greek tragedy.

Shakespeare was living in the Elizabeth era which is the most brilliant era in the history of Britain. Early 7th century，the contradictions and vices of British socialism were increased. During this period，thoughts and artistic of Shakespeare became more maturity，humanism ideal violent collision with social reality. He deplored that the ideal is difficult to achieve and translate the early praised humanism ideal style into to expose and criticize the social darkness. Social stability is the main cause of the tragic flaw. Because of the culture of the society at that time，people prefer to watch the tragedy. The tragedy can give them a feeling of resonance. Shakespearean tragedy is the essence of a great paradox of the expression of life. It is disappointed with paradox. Failure，broken hope，eventually dies. They appear to be the life of the intruder. Tragic literature faces to this paradox and makes people fascinated with it. It did not show up with a solution to the conflict. It does not tell people that life is meaningful，in spite of the failure and frustration. But it makes people sure about contradictions and challenges.
