Dominion and naming is all God given to Adam. God did not give the animal spiritual thought and reasoning ability. Different from animals, Adam is the higher creature, who is created in the image of God, which can reflect the characteristics of the creator （Delany,1998，p474）. Therefore, God made the first man Adam to administrate the world, but God did not grant the human beings to administer the animals without ignoring the guidance of God. For instance, Adam began to name the animal, because the LORD had authorized him to do so. In addition, God gives some help to Adam when he names animal. God makes the animals in front of him to see what animals called. Names serve to emphasize the differences between the animals, but without names, their similarities become more evident ( GUIN,U,L,1998,p21). Adam can take care of the animals In accordance with the guidance of God. Therefore, Dominion and naming is two holy prerogatives the God gives

Adam's dominion decides he has the right of naming. God gave all the animals he had made to Adam, and gave all things to Adam, and more important, God gives Adam the dominion right, which shows he can name all he watches. When God brought all the animals to Adam, notices what they call them, which is the embodiment of Adam's dominion. Adam gave those animals names, and they are called with the names Adam gives them. Adam sees the characteristics of every kind of animal, immediately knows what to give it up, because God has given him the wisdom. When God made the animals, he asked Adam to name the animal, Adam and the animals are not "equal", they are two living thing. "They seemed far closer than when their names had stood between myself and them like a clear barrier ( GUIN,U,L,1998,p15). The above action shows Adam is senior than animal. so then God created Eve for Adam, and aslo let Adam names Eve. Adam has dominion over woman and animals.

Dominion and naming are the power principle of male. First of all, the first man made by God is the man Adam, who is responsible for the management of all things in the world.  God put female in the secondary position in the Genesis. According to the "Genesis", God create man Adam in his own image and manage all things through Adam, and the man who created with the image of God is superior to all other creatures, which indicates axis position of man in the universe. The woman's name is also made by Adam. Eve clearly views names as a way to control and categorize others ( GUIN,U,L,1998,p.27). Genesis plays a deep imprint on the inequality between men and women to Genesis on the origin of human beings. Obviously, The male Adam is created as an independent individual; he has the right to name, and can govern everything in the world.

In a word, Genesis has a profound influence on the formation of the western thought and culture. Genesis is the source of the Western women's problems. The tradition of the patriarchal society is reflected in religion. More important, the development of religion strengthens the dominion on the right woman. If Women want to achieve their own liberation, they need call for the community to get rid of some Christian cultural traditions. Women shall cancel the Christian stereotypes constrained on their mind.
