About the manufacturing of Nike in Bangladesh, though it has the cheapest factories in the world, it has posted serious problems of labor practices such as violations of overtime and worker abuse to Nike. To be sustainable, Nike should continue making profit while at the same time thinking about the condition of their people and environment. The company can hire some professional supply chain analysts to help them come out with a supply chain optimization design which can maximize the profits while at the same time caring about their people and environment. As sustainability is very important to our planet, the company should also use their resources more efficiently. The company should strengthen the recycle chain of the manufacturing plants. This helps to reduce the carbon footprints of the company. 
To be more specific, in order to prevent waste and conserve natural resources, the company should consider the concept of three R’s about sustainability. The three Rs are reduce, which is to use fewer resources in the first place; reuse, which is to use materials for as many times as possible instead of throwing materials away for only one-time use; and recycle, which  is to apply technologies to transform old materials to new materials for new uses. To meet the three R’s requirement, it is recommended that Nike put forward training program for their outsourcing factory workers about the three R’s practice and invest in the upgrading of the recycling of the manufacturing facilities. This will show benefits of profits in the long run. 
 From the supply chain perspective, Nike has already become the first major retailer to release the names and locations of its factories, which is to be more transparent of its supply chain. In order to continue integrate the sustainability concept into the depths of Nike company, the company should put more attention on every part of the company’s overall supply chain. The company should search for every possible improvement. Take a Nike soccer ball for example. It is recommended that the company start to implement the sustainability idea from the design of the soccer ball to see if the raw materials can be reduced through a better design of the product. For the promotion of the sustainability issue, the company can implement a mini fair or a mini lecture and advocate the sustainability concept and penetrate the idea into every single employee. 
Regarding whether Nike’s practice of outsourcing manufacturing to countries with low-cost labor should be discontinued or continued with some changes, this cannot be determined after a thorough analysis and comparison of the overall costs of reshoring and outsourcing. The political, international laws, ethical, and regulation issues should also be taken into account when analyzing the options. The cost comparison would include the transportation costs, inventory carrying costs, production costs, labor costs, and different kinds of fixed costs. For the ethical consideration, the environment and the condition of local people of the city the company plan to outsource their manufacturing line to should be researched before making the decision. The political consideration includes the ease of dealing with the local government of which city the company plan to outsource to. For the regulation and management consideration, outsourcing means Nike will have less control on its production。 Even timely feedback takes time to handle. Not enough regulation posts threat on the quality of Nike products as well as the brand image of the Nike Company. As a result, important management and quality control regulations should be strictly communicated to the outsourcing company and carried out. The costs of implementing quality control and feedback systems should also be considered when comparing the costs of the options. As a result, the decision of how Nike should go ahead with its practice of outsourcing manufacturing to countries with low-cost labor or discontinue cannot be made easily only talking about theories. It is recommended that the company hire some professional supply chain analysts to help the company analyzing the supply chain of Nike and give the best recommendation.
