As far as I am concerned, taking my whole experience into consideration, it is my academic goal of being better that makes me work towards a perfect state and be a best myself. Generally speaking, parts of your former two topics really touch me, which reminds me of the challenges I have met and my future college career.

Recalling my first term in the community college Green river in the United States, my memories come back fresh just as it were happened yesterday. It must be the darkest part of my academic life. My former education was received in China, where I was a student on the top level. But when I came to Green river, everything changed and it was the first time that I had reconsidered the meaning of the word “failure”. When I was a freshman, my poor English always brought me some troubles. On one hand, I suddenly realized that I could not express my ideas exactly to my classmates, especially for some special words, which made me feel very depressed and lonely. More importantly, since I was a typical Chinese who didn’t want to show myself and talked too much, it became very difficult for me to make new friends there.

Every time when other classmates chatted with each other, I would try my best to join them. However, the situations were hopeless. On the other hand, I found myself difficult to perform well in my lessons because of the language obstacles and the disparity between different education methods in China and the United States. In that period, I was drowned in deep sadness, desperation and inferiority. Considering the tough work that my parents have done to give me an access to receive best education in America, I decided to make change. From that day on, I would read English aloud in my bedroom to improve my English skills. To have a standard pronunciation and intonation, I imitated different English video materials and locked up my Chinese book brought from China. After that, I would review and preview my lessons. It was a period that I gave up all my spare time and concentrated on only two things, which are English and my academic study.

My parents didn’t know my psychological sufferings at the school, but they indeed felt very happy and satisfied because their once naughty boy became really hard-working and independent. Sometimes, I would study until one o’clock in the midnight and got up at six o’clock in the morning to do my morning reading before going to the school. Actually, this kind of laborious efforts on study lasted for a whole year. One year later, I became very talkative and I have built up a harmonious relationship with all my classmates. What mattered most is that I got higher scores for my lessons instead of lagging behind other students in the beginning. From this greatest challenge I have met for my college study, I have learnt a very important lesson that the path to be better is to set a better goal for yourself to insist.

With my hard-working in Green river, I have succeeded in finishing my all lessons in advance after overcoming the former obstacles. As I have said, I have a strong desire to be a better person and I really want to be more specific in Accounting since I want to be a senior accountant in the future. Considering the fact that I have got all the credits in Green river for my degree, I cherish this opportunity very much to apply to be a member of your group. On one hand, with my understanding of the field, I realize that my current knowledge is not sufficient for me to be an accountant, so I need further study in your university to reach my vocational goals. On the other hand, I have confidence that I will be welcomed in your university since I am not an inborn American. As the student who has both Chinese and American educational background, I am firmly convinced that I can contribute to the diversity of your campus. Based on these personal experiences, I expect that you can take me into consideration.
