Personal Statement（4）

这是一篇个人陈述。作者总结出自己热衷于会计的原因是：1）。它使我保持一个积极的心，以提高自己，2）。由于各种各样的测试，我肯定会有更高的精神。3）。最后但并非最不重要的，会计的海洋是无限的，换句话说，永远不要太晚去探索它。

Being inspired by a variety of excellent accountants and with a strong determination of mastering accounting, I have always adhered stubbornly to the ambition I have set since young to be an extraordinary accountant and devoted all my energy to realizing it. Years of systematic studies into accounting in the prestigious Green River Community College majoring in accounting has bestowed me with a brilliant sense of what an accountant truly is. I have been sparing no efforts to get to know and study more things that tie into the overarching aspects of accounting in the America in the future so that I will be able to grow myself into a better person.

Honestly speaking, my overall score of GPA is 3.45, and I reckon that I will garner more scores in the future via my diligent work. The reasons why I am keen on accounting are: 1). It makes me maintain an active heart to improve myself, 2). Because of the multifarious tests, I will certainly have higher spirits, 3). Last but not the least, the ocean of accounting is boundless, in other words, never too late to probe into it. It is of great excitement when passing an accounting examination that I had been preparing hard for months, seeing the results really makes my heart sing, because my efforts finally found their ways to pay off.

It is conspicuous that I would like to keep on studying accounting in this fantastic university and I am willing to devote myself into this field in the coming future after graduation. I have heard of University of Washington a couple of times from my peers, instructors or others since I first set my foot into the United States of America. University of Washington is a well-known university, particularly famous for its business education. Established in 1861, University of Washington has made no stone unturned to cultivate a considerable number of talented people, every student graduated from this university will say proudly that I was graduate from University of Washington, and the doors of fabulous companies are always open for them. It is unquestionable that having an opportunity to study in this university will be helpful for me to plumb more knowledge of accounting, for the fact that the professors are competent, the teaching facilities are terrific and the learning atmospheres are conducive to study. What impresses me most is that this school provide its best students with a variety of practical training which will benefit us after graduation.

Chinese people always consider that knowledge changes destiny and lagging behind leaves one vulnerable to attacks, I am no exception. In the past, China has got the short end of the stick, hence, I have developed an unswerving and consistent personality, I will never give up on something that I have been bent on. Having determined to master accounting, I embark on it forever no matter how bitter the successful path of accounting is.

I was suffering gastric ulcer during the summer holiday in the second year studying in Green River Community College. However, being tortured by this illness did not force me give up on studying. I told the doctor in the hospital to prescribe me some medicines which made me easier to fall asleep, thus I would be able to read books. It was really a tough time, but have I surpassed myself and overcome it eventually.

In the past few years, I went to church to teach people who were fond of Chinese mandarin. This voluntary job did teach me something important, one of which is responsibility. It was a raining day, the heavy rain stopped me of going out. However, I had promised that I would go to church and tell them an authentic Chinese culture and characters before, hence, I had to take heart of grace to go out and arrive at the church on time. Seeing them smile to me, I felt that everything that I did was worthy and I was delighted that I had made a wise and correct choice.

In retrospect, one thing that I did before satisfied me most, namely working for a supermarket as a cashier. Being a cashier means nothing, but for me, it means everything. I regard this as a milestone which reminds me of working harder in order to fulfill my dream. Before working as a cashier, I had not have any jobs, I got money from my parents. This is to say that I did not have any idea how difficult to earn money, therefore, undergoing this experience made me become more independent. More crucially, I initiated to know how much I loved accounting and how much I wanted to be an accountant.

I am appreciated that I can be given a chance to fully show my ability and become a person who can do something for the whole accounting world in the future.
