A Recommendation Letter for Miss Wang

To whom it may concern,

I would like to take this honorable opportunity to offer my high and passionate recommendation for Miss Wang Xiaochuang, one of my marvelous subordinates. She told me that recently she is applying for your master’s program with full enthusiasm, and I believe I am the most suitable candidate for evaluating her great potential both in the art history and in business field as I was her employer in the summer internship in old National Museum Nanjing. 

In this two-month internship, Miss Wang demonstrated her excellent abilities of time management and problem-solving. I can still remember that once our museum was asked to hold three itinerant exhibitions at the same time and the time for preparation was limited and tight. This brought a huge challenge and a great deal of difficulty to the staff in our Department of Exhibition. Miss Wang, who was in charge of exhibition planning and preparing in the department, managed to overcome the challenge and difficulties completely and perfectly. She first classified the three exhibitions in accordance with their size, the number of art items, the volume of items and the scale of guests that they plan to receive; and then put the clarification in order based on the work load—the more items were to exhibit, the heavier work load staff would burden. Afterwards, according to the degree of work load, she distributed the limited time to each of them— the heavier work load was, the more time would be spent on it—and finally arranged appropriate time and space for the three exhibitions. Miss Wang managed time and solved the problems so well that I could not stop praising her. I thought these two abilities would be significant in her future study as well as in her career.

In addition, I appreciate her spirits of team work and abilities of interpersonal interaction and communication, which I believe are essential awareness and abilities that will be necessary in business and art study. During her internship, exhibition promotion was one of her most important tasks. Miss Wang and her team were required to promote exhibitions and attract as many visitors as possible. As a team leader, she clarified their goals and tasks in her team, allocated tasks to each team members, held team meetings timely, summarized problems and achievement in each phase, led teammates to solve problems, formed a harmonious atmosphere in the team and coordinated relationship among the team. She, with the cooperation with her teammates, properly positioned each exhibition, targeted at proper market segment and enacted promotion strategies with her teammates. Apart from that, Miss Wang also asked other department for cooperation when she and her team were planning the promotion projects and putting the projects in reality. The directors of other departments who have cooperated with her told me that they felt comfortable when collaborating with Miss Wang and that Miss Wang was polite, modest and sincere. No disputes or argument occurred during their cooperation. Therefore, I am confident in her abilities of interpersonal interaction and team-working.

Last but not least, Miss Wang’s high-level art taste impressed me deeply when she assisted exhibition decoration services. In one of the three exhibitions in which she has participated, when we discussed the questions about the decoration of exhibitions, such as what kind of lights we should use, what wallpaper we should purchase and what facilities should be used in the exhibitions, Miss Wang always put forward creative and useful suggestions for the decoration design of exhibitions which conjoined the topic of exhibition. At the same her suggestions showed her deep thought of cost-controlling and her proficiency in Economics. This made our exhibitions more cost-effective. Therefore, I praise her art taste as well as her business sense.

As an active and inspiring intern with excellent professional performance, Miss Wang Xiaochuang also has a clear plan for her future and strong executive capacity.
