Troy

Troy, which was regarded as Asia Minor in the ancient time of Greece, is nowadays a city-state in the northwest. This city had been regarded as a legendary fictional city before its ruins were found in the AD 1871. The most important works Poet Homer created in the western literary history are centered on this city. They are “The Iliad” and the Trojan War in “The Odyssey”. Again in the AD 1871, German archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann found Trojan site ruins, where more city ruins of different times were found at this place. One of sites named as "Trojan Ⅶ" by archaeologists were thought to be Trojan city in the Homer epic period, but it has been still controversial to date. According to the archaeological research, this city was destroyed in the 13th century BC.

Trojan story first appeared in the myths and legends. According to accounts of Greek mythology, the Trojan people were referred to those old citizens living in the Trojan city of ancient Tero a De region, namely Asia Minor. Although this region was located in Asia, in legends Trojan city was taken as part of the Greek city-states and had similar society to the Greek culture. Also in the legend, the Trojan city was best known for its great wealth obtained from the east and the west port trade, clothing textiles, iron and steel production, and the great defensive walls.
