Nickeled And Dimed America is the richest nation in the world and very poor countries sometimes look to us for help. We give them anything we can, ranging from clothes, to food, and housing. As a rich nation we should help out some of the less fortunate people in this world, but what about the poor people of America. In the book, Nickel and Dimed, it explores what it is like to work for extremely low wages in America. In the book the author learns how it is a difficult job, physically and mentally, on the person struggling to make ends meet. In 1999, the author of the book, Ehrenreich worked as a waitress in Key West, Florida, as a cleaning woman and a nursing home aide in Portland, Maine, and in a Wal-Mart in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She first finds out that meeting her rent is a lot more difficult then she thought. As a waitress in Florida, she struggles each month to reach her rent of $675. As the rental prices go up in America, people’s wages do not. They struggle, working 7 days a week, most working more than job, out, people, america, make, help, day, work, very, sometimes, person, need, low, just, employees, education, book, because, working, wal-mart, waitress, wage, take, struggles, stress, someone, rent, poor, jobs, each, country, countries, common, world, week
