Wilma Theatre

威尔玛剧院有一个大舞台，比我以前去过的其他三个剧院都还要大。它的外装修有点现代和奇异的特点，但内在的风格是写实的。就像核桃街剧院，它的墙上也有很多照片。舞台的灯光和胡桃街剧院一样，但这一宏伟的舞台似乎有点太过茫然，当我们观看比赛时，它留下了一些遗憾的空间。

Play and Players is a small theater designed in a family get-together leisure style. It has only ten seats per roll and no more than 10 rolls in total, which means it can hold only about 100 audiences at a time. However, the light and stage design of Plays and Players are very elegant and gives people a feeling of homecoming, which make people love the place; plus, Plays and Players is a historic heritage left in United States for quite a long time, the theater was founded in 1912 and it has been more than a century since its establishment, which adds to its historic charm to audiences and visitors. The light design of Plays and Players is warm and welcoming, and the stage design and decorations are common but full of life, which is the reason I put it in the first place.
The Walnut Street Theatre, in my opinion, is a little bit more like a cinema than a traditional theatre. Each seat roll is set up higher than the previous role, and on the stage there is a huge screen which makes it look like cinema. To be honest, this new style of theatre gives people an interesting angle to learn the plays in a more “modern” way. The stage lights were moderate and the play was fine. In addition, the Walnut Street Theatre put a lot of pictures and sculptures on the staircase and in the corridor of the theatre, so that people will have better understandings about the history and the upcoming shows of the theatre, which is nice and convenient for those who would like to learn more about its past and future.
The Wilma Theatre has a grand stage that is larger than all other three theatres I have been to. Its outer decoration was a bit modernistic and bizarre, but the inner style is realistic. Just like the Walnut Street Theatre, it’s also got a lot of pictures on the wall. The light of the stage was just as moderate as Walnut Street Theatre, but the grand stage seemed a bit too vacant for the performance and it left some space of regret when we watched the play. I rank it the third of all these four theatres.
The Suzanne Roberts Theatre, home of the Philadelphia Theatre Company, is also a good theatre founded in 1970s. It has won many awards of “best theatre” of the region and is famous for its settings and play qualities. However, the day I went to Philadelphia Theatre Company, I found that despite the external decoration of the theatre was good, the internal settings and decorations of the stage were too cold, filling with stained metal and a sense of coldness, which I personally have no positive feelings towards it. I would give it a low rank in accordance to my consideration.
