  I once have travelled to Hong Kong, it is a famous city near China mainland. As we know, Canadian ice-wine is very famous to the world and its price is reasonable. But when it exports to China, manufacturers aim at the middle and high-end market, as a result, the price will be much higher than we buy it in Canada. That’s because Canada have an absolute advantage in producing ice-wine.
  Another interesting fact is that in Hong Kong, the government only excise consumption tax on particular kind of product. But in Canada, we collect consumption tax on almost every product we buy and compare to Hong Kong, the tax rate is much higher in Canada. Because of the tax free policy, no wonder so many Chinese go shopping in Hong Kong.
  When I travelled to Hong Kong, I stayed several nights in my aunt’s house and I heard something intrigued about some holidays in Hong Kong. In New Year’s Day, there will be one day off for people to celebrate the coming of the New Year. But the Spring Festival is the New Year’s Day in the traditional Chinese calendar, there will be three days off for people and it will be celebrated even more grandly. That is to say, people in Hong Kong will celebrate the New Year twice a year. And before the Spring Festival, most of the shops will give customers a good discount and people from China mainland will come to Hong Kong to make special purchases for the Spring Festival. Consequently, in these days, most of the market will be filled with people and stores discount in order to attract customers.
