Enterprises must fulfill their ethical principles, which are the requirements of stakeholders and the requirements of the whole society. In general, the business must have integrity, fairness and concerns for others and it must obey the laws and must be promise-keeping and trustworthy (Rushton et al., n.d.). Specifically, first of all, the decision-makers must be upright and have principles; meanwhile, they cannot damage the image of the company and the interests of employees for the immediate benefit. Besides, fairness is important. When the company is operating normally, it should treat employees fairly and provide them with benefits and wage protection. When there is a problem with the company's operations, it is supposed to make timely adjustments to its operations, rather than immediately abolishing employees. Secondly, the executives must care about others, which can be regarded as the golden role of a company (Rushton et al., n.d.). In the face of economic recession, companies should not abandon the interests of employees. Furthermore, enterprises should abide by the law, and the company and the employee sign a contract. If the employee does not make a mistake, the enterprise cannot dismiss the employee without reasons. Compliance with laws and contractual rules is also a requirement on promise-keeping and trustworthiness of corporate ethical standards. In reality, as companies cannot quit employees at will, some companies would make up excuses. They set strict standards to supervise the work of employees, making it difficult for employees to work or to work under huge pressure, so the company can push employees themselves to decide to leave, in this way, the company seems to follow the principle of keeping its promises. In fact, this behavior violates the principle of integrity. It means there are connections between these ethical standards. All ethical principles complement each other. Compliance with the law is the foundation. Under the premise of following the laws, the company must consider the personal rights of employees. In this process, companies must be fair and keep their promises. In the case of layoffs, our company must not only consider its own interests, but also comply with ethical standards. We can assess the capabilities of our employees and the company's own operations. Considering adjusting the company's own business model and changing the strategy is the first step. If we still cannot improve the company's development prospects, we can adjust the wages based on the profits and lay off incompetent employees.
