The Netherlands is rich in wind energy

Holland is a place owning abundant wind energy resources. Recently, it is expected to establish some wind farms in order to take good use of its wind energy and provide 160000 houses with power. This wind farm, called Westermeerwind, will be located in Noordoostpolder, Holland and it will become the largest wind farm in Holland after its opening in 2015. According to the introduction, “the project involves 48 3MW turbines that will produce a total of 500GWh — enough to supply sustainable energy for 160,000 households”.

This project will be financed by Dutch banks, including Rabobank, ING, ASN Bank and Triodos Bank, which announced they will collect around 428 million dollars. Moreover, according to the report, “part of the funding is guaranteed by Denmark's export credit agency EKF”.

The main controversy surrounding the project lies on its advantages and disadvantages. But some argue that there is no need to worry about those questions because financial supports have been given to solve those problems.
