Although the government, unlike most of the rest of the world is opposed to the idea, Nevada feels there can be a positive economical and social outcome. Before the initiatives and laws are passed the people of Nevada need to know what they are getting in to. Marijuana is a serious issue across the world and governments need to do whatever is best and necessary for their citizens. Nevada is headed down the right path but many people would question this due to Nevada’s reputation. They have legalized gambling and prostitution, the sigma that those two things bring along with this cuts deep in the wounds of the supporters of this bill. I believe Marijuana is the lesser of the three evils and Nevada’s citizens should get what they are asking for. Some benefits to legalizing marijuana would be they’d make money off taxing it, it is less harmful than alcohol and tobacco, and the prison systems would be less congested with marijuana related offences.
