Differences Between Inner City & Suburban Teenagers In the past, their have been many stereotypes on inner city and suburban teenagers. Inner city teenagers have been viewed as young people that don’t care about their life and are heavily into drugs and alcohol. The suburban teenagers have been viewed as “perfect” young people that have bright futures and don’t really do anything wrong. Being an inner city teenager that has family in the suburbs, I have been able to see both sides. I have seen what suburban teenagers do in their leisure time, and it wasn’t anything worth bragging about. I have also seen what inner city teenagers do in their leisure time and yes, some of which shouldn’t be mentioned either. But other then that, times have changed and both teenagers’ actions are more related then many people would believe. One would atomically assume that the inner city teenager would be more likely to get into trouble because of the limited number of after school activities and the lack of parent support. But suburban teenagers are somewhat under more stress then inner city teenagers. One suburban teenager’s states “It’s expected of you to do well in any aspect of life…you don’t want to seem different suburban, city, teenagers, inner, graders, 12th, urban, school, seen, one, manhattan, going, students, report, people, high, good, drugs, better, been, while, stereotypes, don’t, different, college, because, bad, areas, about, wrong, two, told, teens, somewhat, recent
