Saddam

Saddam June 30th is approaching quickly. The 30th is the date that was set by President Bush in which all sovereignty will be transferred to the new Iraqi government. There is still one major issue that will have to be dealt with in the next two weeks—what is to become of Saddam Hussein' The Iraqis want Hussein turned over to them so that he may be tried by the same people he harmed –his own countrymen. However, despite that very real need on the part of the Iraqis, it is nevertheless imperative that the US maintain complete control of Saddam until such time as the Iraqis can organize a trial for his crimes and conclusively prove that there is no chance that they will lose custody of him. Understandably, the people of Iraq want the US to tell them where their former brutal dictator is, and they no doubt want us to hand him over to Iraqi custody. This is understandable in light of all the atrocities he has committed against so many of them and their families.
