War on Guns THE WAR ON GUNS Should you carry a gun' As a child I was brought up believing that guns are dangerous. My mother began telling me about her brother who had several guns given to him by his father. She said that her dad was real safety conscious, always telling the kids that these are not toys, that they are for real and get people in bad trouble or badly hurt. Her father started taking his son hunting but he was always telling him that carrying a gun does not guarantee that you will not be harmed. One day father and son were walking back to the house after a long day of hunting, the father asked his son if he took the bullet out of the chamber of the gun. The boy told his dad, yes. As they got within 100 yards of the house, the boy tripped. As he was falling to the ground, he used the butt of the gun to keep from falling, when he did, the gun went off and killed him instantly. This was not a case of a criminal action. It shows that accidents do happen and can guns, gun, son, should, people, father, boy, about, telling, play, after, without, way, war, told, times, thinks, teaching, safety, right, real, problem, parents, out, one, okay, little, letting, law, keep, instance, hunting, house, harmed, falling
