Cultural Movement The Controversy over “Economic Crisis Leads to Scapegoating of Ethnic Chinese” is an issue which I am torn between two arguments. The first issue, which I think is in part Indonesia’s fault, is the fact that their currently has dropped so quickly and they blame it on the Chinese community. Now that the currency has gone down the prices of common goods went up. Now that prices have gone up, the people in Indonesia are rioting with the Chinese storekeepers that sell the food. Some of these types of common food are; rice, sugar, cooking oil, etc. The troops that were sent to help stop the rioting weren’t even telling the people of the town what the reason was for them to have to pay higher prices for food.
