Rememberance A Thanksgiving to Remember Thanksgiving rolled around in November, just as it had since the beginning of time. But the Thanksgiving of 1999 is one that I will always remember. I figured that it would be the same normal tradition at first. Hours waiting on dinner, eating the same stuff we ate every Thanksgiving. An array of mixed, colorful vegetables, yams, stuffing and a large, juicy, plumped Tom turkey. Not to mention the mouthwatering deserts which normally include apple and pumpkin pie. After dinner we would all gather around the television as normal and watch the football games. In particular, the Detroit Lions who would host either Green Bay, Minnesota, Dallas, or the Chicago Bears. Those were only teams that they have ever played on turkey day since 1938. But on this particular year it was completely different from the norm. My father, a Detroit Lions fan since he came out of the womb, had a little present to show all of us the Monday before Thanksgiving Day. We were all sitting in the living room watching the television when my dad walks in the house.
