The article I chose, Anything You Sell, I Can Sell Cheaper, is about an online company and how they are achieving success. The name of the retailer is Buy.com. They were created in 1997 and proved to be very successful, sales topped $86 million in the first 11 months. This company is an online retailer that started out by selling computers, but moved to different markets. These areas include all electronic products, movies, music and books. The retailer combines low prices, selection and ease of use to boost sales.
The founder and CEO Scott Blum has created a very successful business. Blum is a college dropout who started his first business at the age of 19, making modules for Apple Macintosh. He sold that outfit for 2.5 million, which shows his experience has proved to be very important Soon after he was investigated for improper accounting practices to inflate sales and earnings. When this article was published he was in search for a new CEO that has some credibility on Wall Street so he can take the company public.
