The books author believes that when faced with change, there are simple things that work to help you cope with these changes. The story’s characters are faced with change and they all deal with it differently. There are four characters: Sniff, Scurry, Hem, and Haw. Sniff and Scurry are mice, Sniff as the ability to “Sniff” out and detect problems, and Scurry has a great ability to act quickly when a situation arises. One the other hand the characters Hem and Haw are tiny people who allow emotions and attitudes effect there way to adapt to change. Hem and Haw had a major flaw in that they settled into a comfortable routine, and are content to do the same thing the same way everyday. The book talks about a Cheese Station C, which supplied Sniff, Scurry, Hem, and Haw with a limited amount cheese.
