Stock Options For Everyone The article I am writing about for written assignment #1 is called Stock Options for All. The opening bold face print states: “Increased employee share ownership and less gravy for the greedy few will encourage what every company wants, motivated workers.” This sentenced pretty much sums up the message the article is trying to get across to the public. It does this by going into detail about how CEO’s of companies and executives have been giving themselves huge stock-option payment packages. It shows the large gap between the level of compensation for executives and regular worker. The article goes a little into the scrutiny that executive pay packages are under. Finally it tells how by spreading some of the wealth around to the workers will provide more output and loyalty for the company. I really liked this article. It compliments some of the material we went over in class. An example of that was when we discussed money being the top motivator for people to increase output. One of the pay for performance ideas we went over was giving regular company members the chance to buy stock in the company they work in.
