The Truth About Nature
Two authors wrote about life in Virginia, however, John Smith created a picture of beauty and perfect surroundings to propagandize and recruit, while William Byrd narrated a second hand event, which explicitly gave the brutal and not so pretty facts of nature. Whereas both writers wrote about the nature they encountered and were similar in very few ways, the degree in which they differed was quite a gap. These two men had two comparable purposes for writing, they both had to report their findings, yet only one of the writings was completely honest. John Smith used positive, yet untruthful techniques to entice the community in Jamestown to expand.

Upon marking this claim, he was then to explore the land and report his findings so that inhabitants of England would come to their colony in Jamestown. Basically, he was like an agent or recruiter sent out to find new clients so that they, England and Jamestown could make a profit.
