Pride In The Contender Pride in The Contender Robert Lipsyte, an author of a few novels, became famous for writing interesting stories about human characteristics. Lipsyte wrote The Contender, one of his more famous novels, which has many human characteristics in it, including pride. This novel has several characters who show examples of pride.
