Talking about what “healthy” means to me, I would like to say that “healthy” really means much to me. Being healthy can provide me with unlimited opportunities for my future and it can enable me to own a promising life, a favorite job as well as a warm family. As I am healthy, I can then spare no efforts to pursue my own dream without taking any regard of the difficulties along the way and do whatever I want and become the one I would like to be.

Being healthy is worthless and it cannot be bought no matter how much people would like to spend once it has been lost. So “healthy” would definitely be too late to rescue, which indicates that human beings should stay healthy in their life to the best of their ability as early as possible.

In order to be healthy, there is no doubt that a healthy diet is a must for the great majority of human beings. As far as I am concerned, a healthy diet should be a balanced diet that can provide human beings with all kinds of vitamins and minerals needed so that people can be energetic in their daily life either for their job or study.

A healthy diet should be able to supply the eaters with calcium, fiber, potassium, protein as well as other nutrients and in the meantime limit fat and sugar intake accordingly. The intake of those necessary nutrients can guarantee that people can grow healthy and all their vital organs can be in proper function. When human beings are deprived of a healthy diet, they will completely be lack of energy and they cannot keep their spirits up for many things.

A healthy diet requires people to consume nutrient-dense foods instead of empty-calories junk food so that they can avoid a series of diseases, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, obesity and many other chronic diseases. Therefore human beings should pay attention to how to eat smarter but not how to eat better and they should eat fruits and vegetables more in their life as fruits and vegetables are rich in nutrients.

In the opposite, they should decrease the intake of calories so that they should eat less the below foods, like candy, pasties, baked goods and snacks. Moreover, a healthy diet asks for human beings to have the meals regularly and have almost the same amount for each meal without extensive or insufficient intake sometimes.

Though vegetables and fruits may cost more than those junk foods, people should also still stick to vegetables and fruits out of the endless benefits as can be brought by them. However, a healthy diet is not easy to establish and people should try their best to correct their own bad dietary habits. Once human beings begin the process of establishing their healthy diet, they should be persistent till the end and not give up no matter how hard it may be when taking the advantages of a healthy diet into consideration.
