What is an Icon' Icon Essay What is an icon' Many people have different views about the meaning of an icon; to me I think icons are just like role models. After reading the essay “Heroine Worship the age of the female icon” by Holly Brubach I thought about many different icons that were important to me. The first icon that came to my mind was my sister but I can not write about her because she is not famous, so then I thought about someone that was like her and had many of the same characteristics. Princess Diana is an icon that has made an impact on many peoples lives young and old. In Brubach’s essay she explains how some female icons are looked up upon to compare their self to but could never strive to be them. She shows how people look up to icons as more of what there looks are and not the good they have done or the kind of heart they have.
