This film has described the various lives of 4 white women, who has accepted good education and are in the upper class in the city of New York. One character in this film is Carrie, whose life has been described, and she is the main character in this movie. Carrie and a rich man named the Mr. Big. Miranda is a special career woman, who is a lawyer and tries her best to be a good mom at the same time. Charlotte is a traditional character, who wants to have a wonderful family. Samantha is a woman with open minds, and she thinks sex is more essential than everything in the relationship between women and men. These four women have been described vividly and typically in the movie. The goal of this paper is to do a research on the representation of men and women characters in the film Sex and City 1. The thesis will look into the way that male and female are represented.

The content analysis of this paper will pay full attention on the characters of Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big. The dynamic relationship between the two characters will also be analyzed in the thesis. By watching the film, the development of their relationship can be clearly seen. The three greatest topics relating to Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big are marriage, an apartment and the deep love (Belinda, 2008). In the procedure of seeking for an apartment, their relationship has some changes. The two characters both have the economic ability to buy an apartment, but they all want to be independent in their relationship.

The paper will analyze all the episode in the movie Sex and City1. While watching every episode, the scene was recorded when the two characters have done something which concerned with the three themes. For the first theme, things that have been covered in the observations were when the each of them was talking or considering something on marriage.
