Task 1
1.1 There are different types of information as can further be divided into the following ones: verbal, written, on-screen as well as multimedia/ web based. The difference among those types of information is the way by which the information is informed so that the specific parties can be well informed, leading to their taking action toward the information obtained. Or maybe it can be put in another way that the way by which the information is informed is just the classification criterion for those types of information. 
1.2 For example, the business can get its needed information from human beings by talking and communicating, the so-called verbal method; and it can as well get the information in the means of e-mail, text together with other written forms. Moreover, the business can get the information from on-screen and multimedia/web based, which are the popular and effective way for the business and a great majority of human beings to be informed within the shortest time. As for different purposes of the business information, they mainly include the following ones: updating knowledge, informing future developments, strategic direction, SWOT analysis, offering competitive insight, communicating sales promotions, inviting support for activities and so on.

1.3 Two advantages of verbal information: easy to understand and available for inquiry; two disadvantages of verbal information: no track to seek while looking back and quick to be forgotten. And two advantages of written information: always with a track to recall and can be modified over and over again; two disadvantages of written information: easy to cause the confidential information be known to others and hard to find it when needed. Comparatively speaking, written information is with higher reliability when compared with verbal information in that it can be looked back in the future. However, the importance of all types of information is the same as all of them can effectively inform others so as to achieve the goal of delivering the information. 
1.4 The business information that is appropriate to be used to make strategic decisions include a mixture of financial and non-financial information. For example, the statistics from all the employees that are in support of a certain strategy will directly determine whether this strategy will be passed in the end. Also, the information collected from the balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, statement of changes in equity can show whether the setting up of a certain strategy can help bring profit to the whole company so as to influence whether that specific strategy will be passed in the end. 
1.5 Considering the information collected, I believe that the information is appropriate in meeting the strategic aims of the company and helping them to make strategic decisions. The rationale why I hold in this view is that all the information collected shows that there are promising prospects for it to gain profit. 
Task 2
2.1 After looking at the business report, I am sure that the company will undoubtedly encounter a promising developing chance in approaching days. Though it has experienced financial decline in the past, it has actually drawn the lesson from within so that it can still develop better and better in the future.

2.3 What I would like to put on the web page is the above two graphs with the first one being about the distributing locations of its increasing stores and the second one related with its history, which suggests that this company is improving itself in a way or another so that it can later gain an upper hand when compared with its rivals. 
2.4 Presentation methods to meet the needs of the user mainly include the following ones: document, use of style, verbal presentations, role plays, onscreen multi-media presentation, use of images, web-based presentation and multi-lingual support. All of these presentation methods can be used by the employees aiming at the great majority of human beings. Its purpose is to make it possible for as many people as possible to become a customer of it at last. 
Task 3
3.1 The specific method that I would like to elaborate on is leaflet which can improve its marketing techniques in a way or another. To put it more specifically, first and foremost the leaflet should be redesigned so that it can be more appealing and obvious for the consumers to pay attention to it, leading to the increase of sales. Furthermore, the company is better to distribute the leaflets to as many people as possible so that more and more people can know the existence of it and later patronize there. 
Task 4
4.1 The strengths of the rivals of Marks and Spencer are that they also promote their products and services through TV advertisements as is not realized in the first beginning of Marks and Spencer. The weaknesses of them are that they do not share goodwill so that they can not attract the customers through goodwill. As for their target market, it mainly locates in the countries and areas where there are fewer stores of Marks and Spencer. And their purpose is to realize the maximization of profits for themselves on one hand and in the meantime to provide all the customers with quality product with the least money used. 
4.2 It is a common sense to say that the business information and communication is really effective contributors to the success/failure of the organization and its plans. Or maybe it can be put in another way that the business information and communication can show us whether it can bring profits to the company so that it can further determine the success or failure of the business.
