What is the aim of education? What should the ideal classroom look like in the future? These are the permanent questions haunting every educator around the world. Prominant scholars, such as Rodriguez, Pratt, and Friere, have given their own blueprint from their distinct perspectives.

In 1982, Richard Rodriguez, a famous Latino-American writer published his most famous work, Hunger of Memory: The Education of Richard Rodriguez, an autobiography of his intellectual development.

Unmoved by Rodriguez's mere description and story telling of experience and emotion, Paulo Freire may condemn this passage as lacking in in-depth and analytical approach to the aching issue of education to the core. 

Instead, highly abstract and theoretical, Pedagogy of The Oppressed, written by Paulo Freire himself, has provided us with two polarized concept in education

Drawing inspirations from the close inspections of Guaman Poma's The First New Chronicle and Good Government written in hundreds years ago, Mary Louise Pratt starts from the contact between different cultures in the field of autoethnography and gradually brings us to the heated discussion on education with the idea of the "arts of the contact zone" in mind.

For Rodriguez's alienation dilemma, one must in face of conflicting culture identity and cultural environment. 

A closer inspection of Pratt's suggestion tells us that even in a varied cultural environment, one must be open-minded enough to genuinely engaged in a equal dialogue in the contact room, no staying away, no pretending. 

Freire's potential requirement is even more demanding, for the student should not only calm and solemn enough to judge his own situation, but also strong and powerful enough to fight against the oppressor. 

The distance between the future depicted by them and the reality we are in is depressing and discouraging. However, we can still learn a lesson from them.

In the context of the spread of globalization and the intensifying cultural exchange, we will encounter more and more diverse and complicated learning environment, with so many distinctive opinions and sounds around us.
