这是一篇常见的出国申请的个人陈述，内容主要讲的是作者的父母很注重教育，2011年来到美国上学，缺乏学习动力。后来得知了父亲生病是因为供作者到美国上学，经济压力太大。这是一个转折点，幸运的是作者的父亲康复了，而作者也开始在努力学习的同时通过一些parttime job 赚取生活费。作者希望能考上一个好大学不辜负父母的期望

I come from a common family in China but I think it’s my fortune to be born in this family because my father and mother pay lots of attention on my education. Although going abroad to finish one’s study has become a popular trend in China, it cost much for my family. Thanks to my father’s long-term view, I finally came to America in the summer holiday of 2011. The only regret was that I chose a military school. At first, I lacked of motivation on my study because what I learned didn’t interest me. The turning point happened in the third month after I came to America. One day, my mother called me in a tone of anxiety and told me that my father fell ill suddenly. I knew my father worked harder after I came to America in order to earn more money to support my study. But I never expected that his poor health would lead to his illness. I blamed myself a lot and prayed for my father overnight. The next day when I heard my father’s sound on the phone, I burst into tears. Fortunately, my father was out of danger finally. I told my father to take care of his health no matter what and I would take care of myself either. After that, in order to reduce my father’s stress, I would do some part-time job to earn some money in my spare time. But most of my time was spent on my study. What I realized from the event was that I could only learn more knowledge to make my father feel that what he did was worthwhile. As I spent more time on my class, I began to form a special sense about what I learned. I came to experience the interest about the subjects. In addition, I began to go to the library more often. As a result, I broadened my horizon. And now I have a dream to be admitted to a good university. Only in this way can I say to my father proudly that I didn’t waste my time in America and I lived up to his expectations. One day, I will have enough ability to let my father and mother live a better life. This is my ambition and I must realize it through my efforts from now on. And I hope one day, my father will say his efforts were worthwhile because I gain a lot in America.
