Tuesdays With Morrie Tuesday with Morrie Maybe it was a grandparent, or a teacher, or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching, helped you see the world as a more profound place, gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it. For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly twenty years ago. Obviously, Morrie Schwartz greatly impacted the life of Mitch and through his book Mitch has allowed his readers to receive a part of that influence. Morrie chose to die in a different manner than many other people. He accepted his own fate and decided to do something with the precious time that he had left. He took what he had and made it something positive although to many, it may be viewed as the ultimate negative. Even though he was living with a debilitating disease, he did not allow himself to slip into a depression or to simply accept and wait for death.
