The Psalms Of Life “The Psalms of Life” By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow NEW WORDS bivouac- an unsheltered encampment or camp CHARACTERS A. heart of the young man- this is the one narrating the story, he thinks that life should be should not be thought of in such a depressing manor. He looks to it as a more positive experience, speaking of setting examples to teach those who come after us. B. the psalmist- he is the one who the young man is speaking to in the poem. IMPRESSIONS I think this poem has a very good meaning behind it, I wouldn’t call it sad or frightening, more uplifting in it’s own way. The way the young man speaks of life and how it should be lived, is something I think that lives in the heart of all of us as a society. This is a very good poem, one that should get people thinking about how they live their own lives.
