A Rose For Emily Miss Emily was a lonely and troubled soul. No matter how much people tried to help her, she would turn away, thinking that there was no problem with how she lived. She was slowly losing her sanity, losing the person that her father put on a pedestal. She wanted to be happy within her own self, but her father took that away from her. Because she was the daughter of a man who loaned the town money, she felt as if the privilege of not paying any taxes was also bestowed onto her.
