Aristotle The Politics Aristotle was a great speaker in politics and life and addresses a lot of issues in his book, the Politics. An issue that he talks upon briefly is women and their roles with the house and government. When you read you come to find out that the Greeks and non-Greeks have a different view on women. You also find out that women have no power in the politics and government and the only reason that they would run a household is if the male child are to young and there is something wrong with the husband. He also assumes that “self-evident that the male’s abilities are superior to the females” (I ii: 56). Greeks and non-Greeks have a completely different view in the status of women and slaves. It is said that the Greeks have “distinguished between female and slave” (Iii: 57). They state that the women are more for the house and are a partnership of love and although the man is still in charge of the household, the women are not just working hard for the men and getting nothing out of it.
