One was of a US Senator, Daniel Fitzpatrick and the other was of a little girl, Shanelle Green. Was the killer the same person' The big question was who did it' So the call for the job came to Alex Cross. His partner John Sampson came to get him. They went to work on the case of the little girl, because that’s the only case they knew about at the moment. Alex Cross had child cases like this before, and he thought back to the last time, when Gary Soneji was the kidnapper. Soon after reviewing the case of the little girl, they hear of the Senator’s murder.
