Gilgamesh The social theme that I interpreted from this story was creation. In the very beginning of the story Fynn mentions a plant that he is growing; a plant that will produce a wife to his liking. The vegetable wife plant which he has decided to grow, “has a hardy stock, bypassing the more delicate Vegetable Maiden and Vegetable Bride, selecting a variety noted for it’s ability to thrive under any conditions.” (628) After reading this passage from the story I started to debate two different ideas. First this story must place where women are not naturally made. Second why would you want to create your wife' I felt like the author wrote this story to denote creation in an sf way. He took creation to the next level. He uses seedlings to make a wife.
