Fellowship Of The Ring The Fellowship of the Ring (Book #1) By: J.R.R. Tolken In the Beginning of the book Bilbo Baggins had a birthday party for his nephew, Frodo. Then he disappears without warning, using a magic ring he found a few years before. The ring is ancient and was ripped off from Sauron many generations before, only to be lost by the victors. It was found by a horrid being named Gollum, who Bilbo got it from. Frodo accepts the task of bearing the ring to a council in the east. Their trip comes to a stop at the city of Bree. At an inn there, they meet with Gandalf's friend Strider, who is going to help them on their way. During the night at the inn their horses are stolen. They start back down the road on foot. An elf joins their group as they come to a river where all nine of the black riders oppose them.
