The Bet The Bet The Bet is a story written by Anton Cheahov. The story is about a man who decides to take this bet. The deal is that the man must stay in prisoner fifteen years and he will receive two million dollars. Well, turns out the man leaves the his prison cell 5 minutes before the time is officially over; in return he losses the bet. The question is if this could really happen and how would it done' I think life and freedom are the most favored things in our great country and for some one to visit give their freedom up for some money would bring about these questions. I would think this would be illegal to be put someone prison for no reason. I could see in a mental hospital were you could check your self in and out, but not in a prison. Another reason I feel that you wouldn’t be allowed in a prison is for your safety. You would have to be in a different part of prison because you are in their voluntary and not by force.
