Burning Barn "BURNING BARN" The story "Barn burning" at first seemed to be very confusing to me, and I really at first did not understand it very well. As I continued to read and re-read paragraphs it started making more sense to me. I still am not clear about exactly what the entire story is about, but I am giving my opinion of what I think the story is about. I think that the story is about a crazy father and his son who is in the realm of insanity. To me the main character is a boy named Colonel Sartoris. The supporting character is Abner Snobes. Abner Snobes is a very angry and man who seems to hate anyone that is not related to him by his blood-line. Sarty is faced with the decision of either making people happy by going along with the views and actions of his insane like challenged father or following his own morality and instinct of running away from home and leaving behind his family, his past and his pain.
