Brave New World Review Group Project: Cold War Literature - Fiction Many novels throughout the 1950’s sought to show the ills of communism. A reoccuring trend in these books is that they show the world from an apocolyptic stand point; possibley to show the negative outcomes from a war on Communism. After the apocalypse the world was run by a stringent set of rules that mirrored communism. These novels also tried to let the public escape to a sci-fi world where the fear of the Russians did not exist. Animal Farm by George Orwell Animal Farm written by George Orwell is a true spoof on Soviet Communism. It demonstrates how Communism, originally designed to aid the working class, can work against them.
