Authors Bias I chose an article from the Final Call newspaper. When I read the assignment for essay two and found that we were supposed to find an article with bias I thought to look towards publications that target one specific audience. I then thought of controversial groups and leaders. Within moments Luis Farrakhan came to mind and while searching online for an article written by him, I came upon an article, in the “Final Call”. This article grabbed me because it is something I see so frequently and have a problem with. The article is entitled, “Sports Still No Ticket Out of the Ghetto”, by, Earl Ofari Hutchinson. The Issue that is raised in this article is; what is the reality of Black men and their role and aspirations in professional sports' The author discusses how black men play their hearts out, put all focuses and energy into a sport, like football or basketball and then in the end they have no career and very few skills. Earl Hutchinson touches on how despite the extremely slim odds; these men continue to put all hope into a professional sports career.
