Abelard And Heloise The Letters of Abelard and Heloise The relationship between Abelard and Heloise first started when Abelard first heard about Heloise. Heloise was the niece of Fulbert. Heloise was nearly as well known in Paris as Abelard was. She was renowned for her learning, which was exceptional in a women in the twelfth century France. Heloise was only 16 when she met Abelard.
