1984 All throughout time this world has seen many battles against the forces of good and evil. These battles are caused by the greediness of man, greed for power, wealth, love or maybe just greed to have everything their heart desires. In the Trilogy The Lord of the Rings there is that basic theme of good versus evil. The corrupted Sauron and Saruman try to take over all of middle earth, and the heroic fellowship try to stop them to make the world at peace once more. In The Count of Monte Cristo Fernand betrays his best friend Dantes because he was jealous of the life Dantes had. Later on in the novel Dantes takes revenge on his former friend Fernand. In any case it’s always the good that triumphs over the evil. One becomes evil when they give into certain temptations that corrupts and warps the mind. This corrupt way of thinking makes it alright in the person’s head to cause destruction and turmoil to get the things they desire such as power.
