Yellow Wallpaper The plot of the story is about a woman, who for some reason that is unknown to the reader, is crazy. From her point of view, you watch her rapidly descend farther into that insanity, her main focus being the yellow wallpaper in her bedroom. At the beginning, the main character is fixated on how ugly the wallpaper is, it bothers her, and she doesn't like it. She becomes more and more fixated, until she is totally obsessed. By the end she has gone completely nuts and turned in to a raving lunatic. The main character never really seems all right in this story. At first you're given the impression that the woman has, or is overcoming, some kind of physical illness. But after a while, you come to the realization that she's pretty much screwed in the head. The story doesn't give much background information, or insight into the main character's life. Therefore, the whole time I read it, I was wondering about why she was so messed up, and what, exactly, was going on.
