Al Gore Al Gore was born on March 31, 1948 to Albert Gore Senior and Pauline LaFon Gore. Albert Gore Sr. was serving in the US Senate at this time. Al was raised in Carthage, Tennessee in the Baptist tradition. After living in Tennessee, the Gore family moved to Washington D.C. Gore excelled in school and attended college at Harvard, Divinity School in Tennessee and Vanderbilt Law School. It was at this time near Gore’s college experience when he enlisted in the US Army. Gore ended up serving in the Vietnam War. When he got home, Al began getting involved with politics, following in his father’s footsteps.
