Gandhi In a world where there is conflict between nations, and governments rage against each other with no attempts for compromise, the result is almost always either war or conformity. In India under British rule the Indians turned to conformity, and made no disputes to the Britain’s racist system. In India the majority of Indians were slaves and the few that weren’t had to use all of their time and patience to get what little respect they could. Mohandas Karmchand Gandhi saw the world around him, and couldn’t begin to imagine how it got this way. Gandhi defied tradition and chose neither war nor conformity. Instead he chose peaceful means to free his nation from British rule. He created a just society for his people in a unique way and was a model for the rest of the world to solve problems peacefully. Gandhi was born in Porbander, India, a west coast city on the Kathiawar Peninsula on October 2nd, 1869. At 13 Gandhi was happily married and on September 4rth 1888, Gandhi sailed to England to study law.
