Getting Spanked Getting Spanked Opinions have become more and more separated over the years when dealing with the subject of disciplining children with spanking. Some people think that there is no need for spanking when trying to teach children a lesson. Others feel spanking is well within the parents rights and is not in anyway a form of abuse. I think spanking is a justified form of punishment, and discipline, as long as the situation called for the punishment. I can remember an experience I had when I was probably 5 years old; it was one of the last times I remember being spanked. My Mom and I were at the grocery store, and I didn’t feel like being there so I decided I was going to act up. I kept yelling and getting into everything, I wouldn’t keep up with my mom, I kept lagging behind making her come back and basically drag me along. By the time we had left the parking lot my Mom was pretty fed up with me, she spanked me a few times, which evidently wasn’t enough.
