Deviant Behaivor Deviant Behavior 12 March 2003 Reaction Paper Ms. Selah gave a very informative testimony about her encounter with drugs. This is a situation I have never had to deal with, making her talk all the more eye opening for me. Her account was very detailed and explicit allowing us to see a glimpse of what an addict goes through in their daily lives. Drug addiction is something I rarely think about and it is great to have a new found respect for those who beat the addiction and pull their lives together. The saddest part of Ms. Selah’s testimony was what the addiction did to her family life. It tore apart her relationship with her immediate family as a child, growing up and then when she started a family of her own. The addiction was so blinding that she couldn’t even see the effect it was taking on her family and their growth together. It was also good to see how formative we are as children. When we are young we are like clay just waiting to be molded, and the first person to gain our trust is capable of doing just that.
