Civil War Meets Social Psycology Civil War Meets Psychology Psychology is always a major part in wars of the world. Wars come about because of people who think differently than others. The Civil War was a war where basically only Americans were involved. This war had the most American casualties. The Civil War was one of America’s worst wars, because the winners were also losers. There are some concepts of psychology that relate to this war. The Civil war started with “The shot heard round the world” in 1861 and ended 4 years later in the year of 1865. This war was basically about the enslaving of African Americans. Slavery was big in the south, not so much in the north. There were only two groups involved in this war and they are the Confederates, which is the south and the Northern territories. At the end of the war after many Americans lost their lives the Emancipation Proclamation was released. This said that all slaves must be free. The north had come up victorious with the help of the British soldiers. Stereotype was a big issue in this war.
