Capital Punishment Many U.S citizens have their own views on capital punishment. Capital punishment is punishing a person by death who has committed a serious crime. I believe that if a serious crime has been committed, capital punishment is the solution. The 8th amendment says excessive bail shall not be required nor excessive fines imposed nor cruel and unusual punishment inflicted. In other words a correct punishment must be set according to the crime. I feel that if someone committed a murder, the right retribution, desired punishment, should be death. To allow someone that has committed a serious crime to live and maybe walk the streets again could be dangerous.
