Sistah Souljah Sister Souljah is a hip-hop generation author, activist, recording artist, and film producer. She is one of the most influential and meaningful people speaking to youth and students today. She offers cultural, spiritual, political, economical, practical analysis and constructive solutions with down to earth, home girl feel. Souljah’s words, thoughts, lessons, and books are transforming the next generation. Once you have heard her speak, it’s impossible for you to remain the same. You’ll change the way you think, love and live. When I heard she was coming to Denison I was excited and shocked. I knew from her books that she was a “Hold no bars”, kind of person. She would tell it like it is. The title of the lecture was “Male and Female Relationships”. She began with her story. She explained how she came from the projects of New York city. People thought she would grow up to be nothing like the other black females in her neighborhood. Souljah fought to get out of her dismal surroundings. She applied for scholarships and grants to get a chance to travel and see the nation and the world. Souljah told us of all of the places around the world she had black, women, african, men, souljah, community, people, explained, way, man, homosexuality, american, sex, same, relationships, need, just, africa, themselves, tell, stupid, said, realize, out, order, heard, feel, dumb, campus, around, world, whole, value, treated, thought, story
